All you need to know about maintaining your wood products.

Remember that wood is vulnerable to elements.  Here are some tips on how to care for your boards and preserve them for years to come.

• Never submerge your boards in water. Wash in very warm, soapy water and dry them with a towel immediately and completely to avoid warping
• Keep boards away from extreme temperatures or humidity
• Use products such as Black Bear Woodcraft cutting board wax to restore the shine when they get dull. Start with a small amount on a damp cloth and work into the wood
• To reduce the risk of cross-contamination you should have dedicated boards for meat/fish and a dedicated board for vegetables
